I received a wonderful gift for Christmas – a boxed set of 150 Art Spectrum pastels (thanks Dad & Les!). I feel very spoilt but also inspired to experiment with all that colour!
I thought I’d have a break from portraits and play around a little more in this pastel painting focussing on colour, light and shadow.
I find still life subjects more challenging than portraits – all that symmetry!! – but am fairly happy with this one nonetheless.
